History

Our University was established by the Act on the Organisation of Higher Education Institutions no. 5662, published in the Official Gazette No. 26536 of 17.05.2007. On this date, our Faculty of Fine Arts was established.

Painting, sculpture, music, graphic, motion pictures and television, visual arts, and handicraft departments are in existence within the body of the Faculty of Fine Arts of Mardin Artuklu University. The first department of the faculty was activated in August 2013 with the admission of students in the painting department, and in 2015 the sculpture department started to admit students. Furthermore, in the spring semester of 2013, the Master of Arts programme was established within the painting department and started accepting students.
