In the new process in our country, a close contacts with the Arab world has been emerged. The need for Arabic language has increased and undoubtedly the language education has become essential in the field of Arabic Language and Culture. Also in the different countries on the World, especially, in the Middle East and in Turkey, it has been conducted studies on different topics and areas of Arabic Language and Literature, however, it is known that the studies which are on Arabic culture of the different places on the world where Arabic is spoken and maintaining the tradition which is being to be forgotten are unsufficient.

The Department of Arabic Language and Culture in Mardin Artuklu University studies with different universities within a certain discipline. The Department aim to introduce the rich tradition of Arabic language and culture in Turkey, to teach the Arabic language and its culture and dialects, the historical process of the Arab language and its literary movements and periods, the writer and literary pieces leaving traces in this area. Moreover, The Department  aims to raise competent individuals who can do original work in this field.

Our department, which was established in 2017 within our university, consists of 1 Associate Professor and 3 Doctor Faculty Members. In our country, especially in our department, which has an exceptional place to contribute to the field of Arabic Language and Literature, the education is given in the form of 1 + 2 master's degree.
