OUR CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS (SDG)

Mardin Artuklu University's Turkish Language Teaching Application and Research Center (TÖMER) contributes to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at national and international levels through its education, assessment, evaluation, and academic publishing activities.

The Bengü International Philology academic journal, published by the center, directly contributes to SDG 4 – Quality Education by encouraging quality scientific production in the fields of language, literature, and culture. The journal's international peer-review structure and multilingual academic content align with SDG 10 – Reducing Inequalities and SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals by providing equal opportunities for researchers from different countries.

Furthermore, the Turkish Proficiency Exams (TYS) administered by TÖMER are administered both face-to-face and online. These exams enable learners from different parts of the world to certify their Turkish proficiency to international standards. This strengthens accessibility, digital transformation, and equal opportunities in education. This practice directly contributes to SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 10 (Reducing Inequalities).

With these activities, TÖMER aims to create a sustainable language teaching ecosystem that supports quality education, cultural diversity, and international cooperation.
