MAIN OBJECTIVES AND MISSIONS

Rapidly developing in recent years, tourism industry has taken the lead in important sectors in not only Turkey but also world. Tourism is essentially a service industry and also a hospitality industry. For this reason, friendship and closeness, courtesy, resourcefulness, efficiency, in short professionalism shown during the service is of great importance. And these properties are not acquired depending on luck, instead they are consequences of educational investments upon people.

Based on this fact, the main purpose of the Faculty of Tourism of Mardin Artuklu University, which was established by the decree of the Council of Ministers no 2018/1959 dating 04.06.2018 is to be the faculty with the highest rate of graduates employed in both national and international tourism enterprises with its academic staff with rich academic and sectorial experience and to contribute to the training of qualified academic staff needed in the field of tourism.

In line with this basic purpose, the mission of our faculty is to train and develop qualified and professional human resources that will add value to the country's tourism, economic and social life, are healthy, knowledgeable, and respectful and possess high character and have adopted honesty as a motto.

Our mission is to prioritize the personal development of our students, to produce academic knowledge, to have a teaching staff who constantly renews themselves and reinforce what they know with sectorial practices, to make new generations gain a universal perspective that enables them to develop as world citizens while transferring local and national values to them, to create a culture within the institution in which the feeling of "we" is dominant based on teamwork where participatory processes are implemented, to produce permanent solutions to the problems of the sector with an analytical approach.

With our structure, which aims to make our faculty students objective to be not only equipped but also to be "good people", education and teaching are also considered in the same axis in the lesson planning of the departments within the faculty. Supported with intensive English and second foreign language choices, our education programs also allow students to reinforce the theoretical knowledge to be gained with professional practices on the job in the real sector.
