In 2015, world leaders agreed on the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to achieve three major tasks by 2030: to end extreme poverty, to fight inequality and injustice, and to fix climate change. The Global Goals for Sustainable Development have the potential to realize these commitments in every country and for all people. To make this possible, everyone needs to be aware of these goals.

There is a natural alignment between the values of sustainability, social benefit, and innovation emphasized in the mission and vision of Mardin Artuklu University Community Contribution Coordination Office and the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The university’s broader sustainability efforts such as its rising position in the UI GreenMetric ranking and its environmentally friendly and socially oriented academic studies and projects will be integrated with the coordination office’s initiatives in ways that contribute to these global goals.
