Mosques

Mosque (Cami-i Kebir): It is the oldest mosque in Mardin. It is in the Ulu mosque neighborhood. The three naves
 running parallel to the qibla wall are covered with a dome on the outside along the 2 naves in front of the mihrab. 
The dome, which sits on 6 pillars, dominates the whole place. In the cross vaulted porches, only five sections remained
 in the north, the others slipped. Here, among the porticos, an iwan with a small flood fountain draws attention. 
Its minaret was built during the reign of the Artuklu ruler Kudbettin İlgazi (1176). Melik Salih (1312-1362), one
 of the rulers of Artuklu, had some of his property built by the foundation in this mosque. These consisted of 38 
shops, a bathhouse, a garden around Bab-ı Cedid and many vineyards in Mardin villages. Ulu Mosque, one of the most
 important Islamic centers of Mardin, carries the magnificence of history to the sky with its proud minaret with 
its gigantic structure.
Şehidiye Madrasa: Şehidiye Mosque was built in 1214 by Melik Mansur Nasreddin Artuk Aslan. Today's minaret has
 a spiral structure with double stairs leading to the Şeref. It was built in 1916.
Melik Mahmut Mosque (Bab Es Sur): The mosque covers a rectangular area with houses on one side and narrow streets
 separated from the other sides, and the main entrance is open in a small square. This mosque is called Melik 
Mahmud Mosque because Melik Mahmud (1367-1368) was buried here.
Abdullatif (Latifiye) Mosque: It was built by Abdullatif Bin Abdullah, one of the men of Melik Salih and Melik
 Muzaffer of Artukoğulları, in A.D. 1314. Its minaret was built by the Egyptian Governor Muhammed Ziya Tayyar Pasha. 
Sultan Avis and Melik Mansur are buried here.
Reyhaniye Mosque: This mosque, which was built in 1756 by Ahmet Pasha's daughter, Adile Hanım, is located in the
 Hasan Ayyar Bazaar. Its minaret has eight corners.
Necmeddin Mosque (Maristan Mosque): It was built by Emin Necmeddin İlgazi Artukoğulları. This mosque is called the
 Yellow Mosque. Emin Necmeddin İlgazi was buried here in 1116.
Emineddin Mosque: It is said to have been built by Necmeddin İlgazi's brother.
Nizameddin Begaz Mosque: At the Diyarbakır gate, AD by Nizameddin Begaz, vizier of Melik Kutbeddin. It was built in 1186.
Sheikh Salih Mosque: It is not known when and by whom it was built. There is Salih tomb in the domed tomb next to
 the mosque. 50 meters west of the mosque, a person named Şirin is buried in the four-cornered tomb surrounded by
 chipped stone.
Kale Mosque: It is not known when it was built. It was found that it was repaired by Necmeddin İlgazi in 1269 AD.
Sultan Hamza Masjid: This mosque, which was started to be built by Sultan Hamza in 1443 A.D., was completed by his
 son a year later.
Hamidiye Mosque: It was built by Sheikh Zebuni in 1347 A.D. and itself was buried inside.
Suleyman Pasha Mosque: It was built by Kudbiddin Bin Emir Ali Sincari, the vizier of Jesus Christ in A.D.1195.
Şeyh Çabuk Mosque: The mosque, which is not known when and by whom, is in Diyarbakır Kapı District. However,
 M.S. It is said that it was converted into a Mosque when it was Mor Yusuf Church during the period of Islamic 
rule in 1170.
Tekiye Mosque: It was built by Kasım Sultan's nephew İbrahim Tekye in AD 1445.
Sultan Musa Mosque: It is located 20 km from Mardin city center. During the Turkish invasion of this region,
 Sultan Musa, a great commander, was martyred here in 1055 A.D. The tombs of Sultan Musa and his friends were 
built in the style of Arabic Architecture.
Muhammet Hakim Mansuri Mosque: It is in Yalım town of the center. When it was Mor İsyo Church, it was converted
 into a mosque in the 19th century.
Midyat Mosque: It was built in the last period of the Artuklu State.
Zeynel Abidin Mosque: Hz. In the mosque, which is named after Zeynel Abidin, one of the 13th grandchildren of Muhammed,
 there are tombs of him and his sister Zeynep. Hz. Selman-i Pak, who is said to be the barber of Muhammed, has a 
visiting place.
Kızıltepe (Koçhisar) Ulu Mosque: It was started on the side of Yavlak Aslan (1184-1200) from Mardin Artukids in
 Kızıltepe District and was completed by his brother Artuk Aslan (1200-1239). Three naves parallel to the qibla 
wall, in front of the mihrab, along two naves, 9.75 m. It has been cut by a dome with a diameter of tromp. The interior,
 altar and walls of the mosque are decorated with exquisite engraving writings.
