The Department of Political Science and International Relations offers its students the opportunity to spend a semester or a year abroad at one of our partner universities through student exchange programs. For this purpose, our Department has been actively participating in the European Union Erasmus+ Programme since 2015.

An international experience, such as participating in a study abroad program, will introduce you to a whole new world, help you learn about different cultures, discover many commonalities between cultures, and improve your communication and foreign language skills.

Students participating in the Erasmus+ Programme can stay at our partner universities for three months or for the entire academic year. Erasmus students can benefit from the EU mobility grant. Students must return to their home university at the end of their Erasmus exchange period and complete their degree program.

Credits obtained from the host university are subject to the approval of our Department, and students apply to our departmental coordination along with the Erasmus Office for graduation procedures.

The Erasmus+ Programme at Mardin Artuklu University is managed at the institutional level by the Erasmus Office. The Erasmus Office is the administratively responsible unit for announcements, applications, student selection, grants, etc. Additionally, our Department has an Erasmus Coordinator responsible for academic advisory and the department's agreements.

Erasmus+ 2016 Handbook

The Erasmus+ Programme aims to offer more effective tools to promote cooperation between different sectors, in line with the Europe 2020 Strategy targets, to address new needs in the fields of education, youth, and sports.

Specifically for the higher education sector, it aims to increase quality in higher education and strengthen cooperation between higher education institutions and the business world.

In the most general sense, the target audience of Erasmus+ activities includes institutions and organizations involved in higher education, as well as their employees and students.
