Waste Types

PAPER WASTE: Recycling paper is important because it provides significant savings in the amount of raw materials used and has a high economic value.

What is Paper Waste?

PLASTIC WASTE: Plastic is a component of many consumer products and accounts for much of the output and end products of the manufacturing industry. However, not all plastics are created equal, meaning they cannot all be disposed of and recycled in the same way.

What is Plastic Waste?

GLASS WASTE: The primary ingredient in glass is sand. Sand, soda, and lime are melted by heating them to 1500 degrees Celsius.

What is Glass Waste?

METAL WASTE: Metal is produced as a result of the processing and purification of various minerals that make up the earth's surface.

What is Metal Waste?

ELECTRONIC WASTE: Electronic items are widely used in every aspect of daily life, including homes, schools, and offices. They make our daily tasks easier.

Waste electrical and electronic equipment are wastes that may have harmful effects on the environment and human health due to the heavy metals they contain, and they should be collected separately.

What is Electronic Waste?

COMPOSITE WASTE: Composite packaging made from a mixture of paper and plastic is used extensively as fruit juice and milk packaging and is generated as waste at the same density.

What is Composite Waste?

WOODEN WASTE: Wooden materials obtained from trees are widely used in all areas of life as household goods, packaging and building materials for transportation and protection.

What is Wood Waste?

ORGANIC WASTE: Organic beverages play an important role in vital and agricultural activities. As a result, animal and plant-based waste is generated.

Waste such as fruit and vegetable scraps, park and garden waste, and other waste are considered organic waste. Composting is a process in which organic matter is stabilized by microorganisms under aerobic or anaerobic conditions. Composting is done in open areas or by machine. The resulting compost is used as a soil conditioner in parks and gardens.

What is Organic Waste?

WASTE VEGETABLE OIL: Vegetable oils are the general name of oils obtained from oily plant seeds such as olive, sunflower, corn, cotton, soy, canola and safflower.

Waste vegetable oils cause wastewater collection systems to constrict and clog, as well as soil and groundwater contamination. Therefore, separate collection is necessary.

What is Waste Vegetable Oil?

WASTE BATTERY: A battery is a device that stores chemical energy by directly converting it into electrical energy. Batteries that have reached the end of their useful life or have become unusable due to physical damage are called waste batteries.

Waste batteries are waste that may have harmful effects on the environment and human health due to the heavy metals they contain and must be collected separately.

What are Waste Batteries?

HAZARDOUS WASTE: These are substances that may be caustic, flammable, carcinogenic, irritating, or explosive, and that can have harmful effects on the health of living things, especially humans and animals, or on the environment. These substances, which generally become hazardous waste during industrial production processes, can be in solid, liquid, or gaseous form.

The main types of hazardous waste are:

What is Hazardous Waste?

Hazardous Waste Classification

1. Flammable Materials with Flammable Properties

2. Corrosive, Decomposable or Rusty Substances

3. Explosive Reactivity Substances

4. Poisonous / Toxic Substances

MEDICAL WASTE: Pathological waste, infectious waste, and sharps originating from healthcare facilities that pose a threat to human and environmental health. Medical waste is a very important waste group that carries a high risk.
