UI GreenMetric is an international ranking system launched by Universitas Indonesia in 2010 that evaluates universities' environmental sustainability and green campus practices. Universities are evaluated based on six main criteria : infrastructure, energy and climate change, waste management, water use, transportation, and education and research .

As part of our efforts to secure our university's place in this prestigious ranking, the data collection and reporting process has been completed, and an application has been submitted through the Zero Waste and Environmental Management Coordination. The comprehensive report addresses our university's sustainability performance across a number of topics, including infrastructure, waste management, energy efficiency, water use, environmentally friendly transportation systems, and environmentally sensitive educational activities.

The application process was meticulously carried out by Zero Waste and Environmental Management Coordinator Durmuş Ali Tekdamar , Deputy Coordinator Abdulbasıt Barık and Deputy Coordinator Mehmet Beşir Büyüktaş .

The evaluation, which is expected to be finalized in December 2025 , aims to make Mardin Artuklu University's development in environmental sustainability visible at the international level and to contribute to sustainable campus goals.

We would like to thank Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Yusuf Doğan, who provided guidance and support for the successful completion of the UI GreenMetric application, and Rector Prof. Dr. İbrahim Özcoşar, who led the institutional sustainability vision .

In line with its “ Green Campus – Sustainable Future ” vision, Mardin Artuklu University will continue to strengthen its environmentally sensitive policies, develop sustainability-focused projects, and advance its environmental performance to international standards.
