Principles to be followed in Academic Personnel Leaves and Domestic and International Assignments 1. Principles Regarding Leave 1. Academic staff of our faculty will use the leaves specified in Articles 102, 103, 104, 105, 106, 107 and 108 of the Civil Servants Law No. 657, within the framework of the procedures and principles specified below.

1. The basic principle in using annual leaves is; It is to ensure that the existing personnel in each unit take leave in a way that does not disrupt the service. For this purpose, supervisors authorized to grant leave will provide leave within the framework of a plan that will ensure the continuation of the service without interruption.

2. Annual and excused leaves of faculty members come into force upon the proposal of the department head and the approval of the School Principal.

3. Excused leaves consist of excused leaves used in cases specified in the relevant law (birth, death, marriage, etc.) and a 10-day excused leave that is under the authority of the superior. In case of excuses specified in the law (birth, death, marriage, etc.), leave is granted within the framework of the principles specified in the law. The 10-day excused leave, which is under the authority of the supervisor, cannot be used while there is annual leave. However, it can be used in cases where there is no annual leave.

4. Faculty members use their annual leave during the periods when they are taking a break (Annual leave is not given during the education period. Article 2547: 64). Leaves that must be taken in compulsory situations during the academic period are submitted to the approval of the School Principal upon the proposal of the department head, with justification. If the School Principal approves, excused leave can be used from annual leave, if any. Otherwise, the 10-day excused leave will be used.

5. Except for compulsory cases, annual leave requests must be made at least 5 work days in advance of the initial information of the leave.

6. Faculty members submit the request forms containing their personal information to the School Secretariat via EBYS or by hand after the signature of the department head.

7. Using his annual leave, he submits the requested daily petition, using the annual instruction, and the leave start information to the department head at least 10 business days in advance (depending on the country of destination). Annual leave planned to be used abroad is granted only if it is signed by the relevant unit head and approved by the rector.

8. A new permit cannot be issued at the end of the annual leave without starting the process.

2. Principles Regarding Domestic and International Assignments

1. In this section, the principles of domestic and international temporary assignments stipulated in Article 39 of the Higher Education Law No. 2547 are regulated.

2. Temporary assignments are divided into short-term and long-term assignments. Assignments of faculty members for a period of up to three months (including three months) to attend scientific meetings, conduct examinations, research and practice are defined as short-term assignments, and assignments made according to a work program to be approved by the relevant board of directors for a period of more than three months are defined as long-term assignments.

3. Faculty members are allowed to participate in congresses, conferences, seminars and similar scientific meetings at home and abroad, and other meetings related to science and their professions, without receiving travel allowance from their institutions, to make research and study trips, to be in places required for research and analysis, for up to one week by the Director of the School, for up to fifteen days by the rector. In cases that exceed fifteen days or require travel allowance, or where the expenses required for research and examination must be paid from the budget of the university and its affiliated units or from revolving fund revenues, the decision of the relevant board of directors and the approval of the rector are required (Article 39 of Law No. 2547).

4. For assignments lasting up to one week and subject to the permission of the School Director, the application is made by informing the department head and adding the necessary documents to the permission form (if any).

5. In assignments for examination, research and implementation, the acceptance of a preliminary report on the subject by the School Board of Directors is required.

6. It is essential to participate in congresses with scientific papers. A congress invitation letter must be attached to the assignment request form and a congress participation certificate must be attached to the job petition.

7. In case research assistants studying for postgraduate studies at universities outside the province are assigned to the university where they study for a short period of time (up to 7 days) regarding their theses or other research; At the end of the assignment, the person submits a report to the department head.

8. In order to carry out long-term domestic and international assignments, it is mandatory that the School Board of Directors decides, upon the recommendation of the department head, that the education and training programs of the relevant unit will not be disrupted.

3. Other Matters

1. Instructors with a course load must apply a make-up program if their leaves and assignments coincide with course days. In these cases, a "Course Make-Up Program" approved by the department chairs must be added to the leave and assignment request forms.

2. Department chairs are responsible for the proper execution of the above issues.
