About Medical Laboratory Program

About the Program

The Medical Laboratory Techniques Program was established within the Vocational School of Health Services at Mardin Artuklu University and began admitting students in the 2011–2012 academic year. The program offers both daytime and evening education. With a distinguished academic staff composed of one Associate Professor, four Assistant Professors, and two Lecturers, the department adopts a diverse mission and vision aimed at developing competent and exemplary professionals with strong scientific identities.

Objective

The primary objective of the program is to educate medical laboratory technicians who possess analytical thinking skills, adhere to total quality principles and ethical values, and are capable of meeting the requirements of the field in line with scientific and technological advancements.

Program Profile

The curriculum includes courses such as Basic Health Sciences, Medical Biology and Genetics, Laboratory Chemistry, General Biochemistry, General Biology, General Chemistry, Environmental Protection, Medical Microbiology, Hematology, Parasitology, and Specialized Medical Laboratory Courses.

Employment Opportunities for Graduates

Graduates are qualified to work as medical laboratory technicians in clinical laboratories within public and private healthcare institutions.

Progression to Higher Degree Programs

In accordance with the regulations of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), graduates of this program may pursue undergraduate studies through vertical transfer (DGS) in the following fields: Biology, Molecular Biology and Genetics, Biotechnology, Biotechnology and Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, Genetics and Bioengineering, and Nursing.
