Mission

The mission of the Home-Based Patient Care Program is to educate qualified healthcare personnel who, through a human-centered educational approach grounded in local and universal values, will address the health, care, and social needs of patients. The program aims to cultivate professionals who integrate scientific knowledge and practical skills with ethical and moral principles, possess social and professional responsibility, and can provide innovative and sustainable solutions in patient care.

The vision of the Home-Based Patient Care Program is to become a respected, innovative, and pioneering educational program in patient care at both national and international levels, drawing strength from local and universal values. By integrating science, culture, and technology, the program seeks to produce graduates who are creative, ethically grounded, attentive to scientific developments, and recognized as preferred leaders in their field.

Objectives

The program aims to train healthcare professionals capable of enhancing patient quality of life, recognizing patient characteristics, providing daily care, implementing physiotherapy and occupational therapy, arranging patient rooms, facilitating in-bed and out-of-bed exercises, comforting patients, assisting patients in mobility, administering medications, delivering specialized care for specific conditions, applying first aid, and providing home-based patient care.

Program Overview and Information

Graduates of the Home-Based Patient Care Program are eligible to work under professional supervision in social service institutions and child care centers where patient care services are provided, municipalities, hospitals, non-governmental organizations, as well as private institutions operating nursing homes, elderly care facilities, shelters for the vulnerable, day centers for the elderly, and home care services. They can also contribute to organizing patient homes and supervised protected residences. In addition, students achieving sufficient scores in the Public Personnel Selection Examination (KPSS) may be employed within the Ministry of Health.

Graduates may pursue vertical transfer opportunities (DGS) based on their scores to departments such as Emergency Aid and Disaster Management, Nutrition and Dietetics, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Gerontology, Nursing, Health Management, and Social Work.
