An online seminar about TÜBİTAK Competency Analyses was held with Prof. Dr. Halil Rıdvan ÖZ, a faculty member at OSTİM Technical University. The seminar was attended by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Yılmaz DEMİRHAN, as well as representatives from the Technology Transfer Office, Project Coordination Office, and Quality and Accreditation Coordination.

The “Field-Based Competency Analysis of Universities” study, first published in 2016 by TÜBİTAK, has been updated and republished. The purpose of this study is to enable the comparative evaluation of universities’ performance across research fields. Additionally, it allows analysis of which research areas a university is relatively more competent in within its own institution. In this context, it supports data-driven decision-making mechanisms in various critical processes such as determining national policies, regional plans, and institutional strategies. During the seminar, a detailed evaluation regarding our university was presented. While the 2021 report showed competency criteria met in 17 fields, it was emphasized that this number increased to 33 fields in 2023. This success is primarily driven by the strengthening of our university’s academic staff and the increase in the number of scientific research conducted.
