ABOUT THE UNIT

According to the Project Coordination Office Directive prepared by Mardin Artuklu University in accordance with Higher Education Law No. 2547, Law No. 2809 on the Organization of Higher Education Institutions, and Law No. 5018 on Public Financial Management and Control, the duties and work areas of the Project Coordination Office are as follows:

1. Encouraging faculty members to prepare projects to foster a project culture at the university and increase the number of research and development projects in line with strategic priorities and plans.

2. Monitoring national and international project calls and announcing them to relevant academics and units (website, meetings, seminars, etc.).

3. Collaborating with TÜBİTAK, the EU, etc., for project development and coordination. To collaborate with national and international organizations, plan and organize joint projects, and organize conferences, congresses, and scientific meetings.

4. To provide consultancy, information, and mentoring services to project owners regarding the unique value, widespread impact, and feasibility of national and international projects to be presented.

5. To conduct training programs on project preparation, presentation, and management.

6. To identify project outputs, determine whether they carry intellectual property rights, and to direct individuals to the MAÜ TURKPATENT Industrial Property Advisory Unit and/or the Mardin Artuklu University Technology Transfer Office (TTO) to support project owners regarding legal regulations protecting intellectual property rights and during the commercialization process.

7. To monitor the PROBIS records of projects prepared by the university's faculty or research centers for support by national or international institutions, and to submit project information in a report to the Rectorate if necessary.

8. To encourage the planning and execution of interdisciplinary research and to lead such collaborations within relevant units.

9. To facilitate collaborations between public and private institutions. These include: pre-evaluating requests from institutions regarding project preparation and implementation processes (with prioritization of requests from the other institution), executing appropriate projects in the project office, and directing technical projects to the relevant university units.

10. Identifying projects that enhance university-industry collaboration, encouraging faculty members and the Turkish Chamber of Commerce (TTO) to prepare projects within this scope based on requests and suggestions from industrial organizations and the business world, and directing university-industry projects to the TTO.

11. Preparing annual activity reports on project activities carried out by university units and submitting them to the management.
