
The Rector of Mardin Artuklu University, Prof. Dr. İbrahim Özcoşar, participated in the 12th International Scientific Conference organized by the Faculty of Arts at Mosul University in Mosul, Iraq.
The conference, which brought together academics from different countries around the world, addressed the theme of "Humanities and Social Sciences in the Age of Artificial Intelligence on the Path to Achieving Sustainable Development Goals." The conference discussed the effects of artificial intelligence on the humanities and social sciences, digital transformation processes, and sustainable academic development.
Within the framework of the conference, MAU Rector Prof. Dr. İbrahim Özcoşar delivered a special lecture on the theme of "Gaza." In his speech, Özcoşar highlighted Mardin Artuklu University's approach, which centers on humanitarian sensitivity and academic responsibility regarding Gaza. Referring to the Zionist pressures encountered in academia, Özcoşar emphasized the academic stance of freely producing and sharing knowledge in the face of these pressures, sharing MAU's unique knowledge and production-oriented academic identity and vision in this field with the participants.
Özcoşar also mentioned the university's work on the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, bringing Mardin Artuklu University's exemplary sensitivity on this issue to the international academic community.
Within the scope of the program, in a joint session titled "Artificial Intelligence and Scientific Research in Humanities" held with the Rector of Mosul University, the importance of the human-centered and ethically based use of technology was emphasized.
