MAU Holds Academic Year Evaluation, Awards, and Robe Ceremony

The 2025-2026 Academic Year Evaluation, Awards, and Graduation Ceremony was held at Mardin Artuklu University with a large turnout. Academics showed great interest in the program held in the Rectorate Conference Hall.

MAU Rector Prof. Dr. İbrahim Özcoşar made general assessments regarding the University's 2025-2026 academic year. At the ceremony, after the top 10 academics with the most scientific publications in 2025 received their awards, academics who had advanced in their academic titles were also robed by Rector Prof. Dr. İbrahim Özcoşar with their new titles.

Beginning his speech by emphasizing the vision of transparency and development, Rector Prof. Dr. İbrahim Özcoşar said:

"As a requirement of being a transparent university, we share our academic achievements and goals with the public. We evaluate the development process of our university not only with our academics but also, for the first time this year, with the participation of our advisory board. This participation is an important turning point for the future of our university."

Emphasizing the university's transformation process, Prof. Dr. Özcoşar said, "Mardin Artuklu University is undergoing a fundamental transformation from a boutique social sciences university to an innovative city university. With our ‘Social Sciences + 6T’ (Medicine, Agriculture, Tourism, Design, Trade, Technology) vision, we aim to both increase our scientific output and contribute to regional development."

In his speech, Özcoşar also touched upon academic achievement, academic ethics, and quality processes, stating, “For us, quality and academic ethics are more important than quantity. We base academic appointments and promotions on transparent, fair, and objective criteria. Our efforts in this direction will strengthen the future of our university.”

Referring to students and campus development, Özcoşar emphasized in his speech that students are one of the most fundamental dynamics of the university. Noting that the number of students approaching 20,000 enriches MAÜ with young people from different regions, Özcoşar asked academics to provide more intensive guidance and support to students. He also reminded the audience that the campus has undergone significant transformation in recent years and stated that efforts to increase social living spaces are continuing.

Concluding his speech by highlighting the university's internationalization and accreditation goals, Rector Özcoşar said, "We are progressing towards becoming a university with an established institutional culture that has completed international accreditation processes. I wholeheartedly believe that we will achieve this transformation together."

The 2025-2026 Academic Year Evaluation, Awards, and Robe Ceremony, where academics' achievements were rewarded and the university's future vision was shared, ended with a group photo.
