"Energy Academy" Begins with its First Lesson

The first lesson of the Energy Academy was held for students who want to have a say in the future of the energy world.

The Energy Academy, established under the leadership of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), with the support of the Dicle Development Agency and in collaboration with Mardin Artuklu University, Batman University, Siirt University, and Şırnak University, held its first online lecture with the goal of training qualified human resources in the fields of sustainable development, energy transformation, and green economy.

Hosted by Batman University, and in partnership with Mardin Artuklu University, Şırnak University, and Siirt University, the training process began online on February 2, 2026, following the signing of the "Energy Academy Cooperation Protocol" with the Dicle Development Agency (DİKA). The program is scheduled to continue until May 30, 2026.
The first lecture of the Energy Academy was held online on February 2nd. The training program, held as part of the first lecture, was attended by the Rector of Mardin Artuklu University, Prof. Dr. İbrahim Özcoşar; the Rector of Şırnak University, Prof. Dr. Abdurrahim Alkış; and the Rector of Siirt University, Prof. Dr. Nihat Şındak, Dicle Development Agency General Secretary Aykut Dinç, and numerous students participated. MAU Rector Prof. Dr. İbrahim Özcoşar, who attended the first online class, stated that they aim to further advance the scientific capacity of universities through common sense and institutional collaborations, and wished for the successful completion of the training. Prof. Dr. Özcoşar emphasized the importance of inter-university cooperation, noting that the Energy Academy training is a strategic step in terms of regional development. Özcoşar also stated that they aim to train qualified human resources in the fields of sustainable development, energy transformation, and green economy with this training program.
The comprehensive and free online training program, which aims to provide participants with up-to-date knowledge and skills needed by the public and private sectors, offers six different course modules: energy systems analysis, energy economics and policies, agriculture-livestock-energy relationship, mining and energy, institutionalism and sustainability, and international energy policies. It was stated that participants can choose modules that suit their interests and career goals, allowing for a flexible learning process.
The two-month, free, online Energy Academy trainings; The training program, conducted by expert academics and industry representatives, aims to provide participants with a broad perspective ranging from energy policies to AI-assisted analysis, and to contribute to regional and national development by training qualified individuals focused on green transformation. The program consists of six modules, each containing approximately 80 hours of coursework, including basic training. Participants who successfully complete the training will receive a "Certificate of Participation and Achievement".
