Jewelry Design Department's Atelier Outputs Exhibition Opened to Visitors

The 2024–2025 Academic Year Outputs of Atelier Exhibition, organized by the Department of Jewelry Design at the Midyat Faculty of Art and Design at Mardin Artuklu University, met with art lovers in the corridors of the faculty.

Opening remarks for the exhibition were delivered by Vice Dean Dr. Aysel Alver and Department Head Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nesrin Yeşilmen. Speaking at the opening, Yeşilmen stated that the students' semester-long design processes were blended with social awareness, saying: “This exhibition demonstrates how our students develop their aesthetic sensitivities and technical skills while simultaneously incorporating a sense of social responsibility into their designs. These works, which combine traditional jewelry-making techniques with contemporary design approaches, reflect the educational approach and cultural depth of our department.” The exhibition features works by 2nd and 3rd-year students produced in Basic Design, Pattern, Atelier II, and Atelier III courses. The students showcase the entire process through both two-dimensional design drawings and three-dimensional jewelry works produced in the workshops. A special element that added special significance to this year's exhibition was the student-created Palestinian-themed brooch collection. The brooches from this collection, which carry a message of peace and solidarity, are worn by students and faculty throughout the exhibition to raise awareness. The Atelier Outputs Exhibition will be open to visitors throughout the fall semester in the halls of Midyat Art and Design Faculty. The exhibition is open to the public and free of charge.
