About the Program
The aim of social work is to enable every individual to fully develop their potential, enrich their lives, and prevent dysfunction. The profession of social work is focused on problem-solving and change. Consequently, social workers are representatives of change in society and in the lives of the individuals, families, and communities they serve. Social work is an interconnected system of values, theory, and practice.
History of the Program
The Social Work (Distance Learning) Program affiliated with the Social Services and Counseling Department commenced its education in the academic year 2020-2021. The student capacity of the program is 100. Graduates of the program obtain an associate degree.
Admission Requirements
Having taken the exam conducted by the Yükseköğretim Kurulu Ölçme Seçme ve Yerleştirme Merkezi. Achieving a sufficient score in the TYT score type. Students are admitted to the program through lateral transfer, according to the previously announced number and transfer conditions.
Graduation Requirements
To obtain an associate degree in the Social Services and Counseling Department, students must successfully complete all mandatory and elective courses (equivalent to a total of 120 ECTS credits) and achieve a minimum grade point average of 60 out of 100. Mandatory internship is implemented in the program, limited to 30 working days. Internship can be carried out during the summer semester on dates chosen by the student.
Transition to UpperLevels
Graduates of the Social Services and Counseling Department who successfully complete the program can continue their education opportunities by transitioning to Social Work and Sociology vertical transfer programs through the Dikey Geçiş Sınavı (DGS) conducted by ÖSYM. Graduates can also transfer to the distance education programs offered by Anadolu University's Faculty of Business Administration and Faculty of Economics without examination.
