It is an undeniable fact that humanity is experiencing the "Information Age." "Knowledge" and "knowing" are theoretically valued everywhere, from the most advanced civilisations to the world's most remote corners. When "knowledge" is mentioned, two phenomena immediately come to mind: "university" and "book." Universities are the primary fields where knowledge is produced; knowledge is expected to be transformed into "scientific knowledge" and "value" through criteria such as epistemology and then put into the service of society and civilisation. In terms of disseminating knowledge, books are the most essential tools. Despite other opportunities technology provides, especially in recent years, books have retained their value. Books convey knowledge and present the readers with many contexts related to expertise within a theoretical structure and logical framework.
Mardin Artuklu University Publications, based on these phenomena, undertakes a mission that brings together the concepts of "university" and "book" as two main actors based on the production and dissemination of "knowledge." On the one hand, it serves as a showcase for the knowledge and accumulation produced by Mardin Artuklu University (MAU PRESS), which set out with the vision of being a social sciences university; on the other hand, it seeks to utilise every platform where knowledge is produced. In this direction, MAU PRESS considers it a duty to publish and deliver to the reader "scientific works" written with the concern of serving civilisation and humanity by their authors and following the methods of the scientific field to which they belong.
