Mission
The mission of the Mardin Research Center is to investigate, document, and pass on to the future the historical, cultural, social, and natural riches of Mardin and its surroundings using scientific methods. Through studies conducted with the collaborative contributions of various disciplines, including architecture, art history, archaeology, folklore, history, literature, linguistics, sociology, anthropology, geography, and others, our center aims to reveal the region's multilayered structure and make original contributions to the academic world. Our primary goal is to transfer the data obtained through modern research methods, digital technologies, and interdisciplinary collaborations not only to academia but also to society and future generations.
Vision
The vision of the Mardin Research Center is to become a leading center for Mardin-focused research, recognized nationally and internationally, thanks to its multidisciplinary structure. Our center aims to make cultural and social heritage visible through scientific studies, to transfer the resulting knowledge to digital platforms using modern technologies, and to contribute to universal scientific production through interdisciplinary collaborations. Adopting the principles of academic excellence, innovative approaches, and continuous development, our center carries research on Mardin into the future and aims to become a reference point at both the regional and global levels with the knowledge and practices it produces in different fields.
