Our University Promotes Mardin Jewelry Culture in Europe

Our international exhibitions introduce Mardin culture

The cooperation between Yunus Emre Institutes and our University, representing and promoting Turkish culture and art in more than 60 countries and more than 80 different cities worldwide, continues to grow stronger. The interaction between the two institutions and therefore between the countries, which started with Ukraine in 2018, Egypt and Serbia last year, and continued with Hungary and Austria this year, includes some promotional activities that directly touch individuals interested in Turkish culture and art in the relevant countries.

Associate Professor Nesrin Yeşilmen and Research Assistant İzzet Zorlu from Midyat Faculty of Art and Design of our university, Lecturer Fatih Yeşilmen and Lecturer Sabahattin Akgül from Midyat Vocational School have carefully prepared artistic jewelry designs with the theme of "Colors of Anatolia", most of which reflect the culture and art of the region. They opened personal jewelry exhibitions in Budapest, the capital of Hungary, and Vienna, the capital of Austria. Within the scope of the exhibition, presentations were made explaining Mardin filigree art. In addition, a workshop including filigree applications was organized with art lovers who visited the exhibition, accompanied by our university's professors.

The exhibitions and events held in Budapest, the capital of Hungary, on May 8-9 and in Vienna, the capital of Austria, on May 11-13, were followed with interest by both Turks living in Europe and local people. In addition to the public, Consulate and Embassy officials and National Agency representatives also attended the events.
