Its main duty is to train researchers and to present its knowledge and production in the fields of scientific research, education and service for the benefit of the society.

The department includes the Departments of Entomology and Phytopathology. The aim of both our departments is to provide our students with comprehensive information about diseases and pests that threaten plant production and to direct them to research. Our department applies new teaching techniques to convey current developments in these rapidly developing branches of science to students, and aims to expand its staff to provide experts with high scientific quality who will conduct research and give lectures in new fields.
Acarology, Entomology and Nematology Branches within the Department of Entomology; Within the Department of Phytopathology, there are Bacteriology, Mycology, Virology and Herbology Branches, and many courses on these subjects are given by experts in the field, following the latest developments. The education provided in both departments includes classical lectures, in-class discussions, student presentations, laboratory and field applications and seminars.
