Social Contribution to Family Education: Seminar by Dr. Suzan Çen Yağız at Sevgi Kindergarten
Dr. Suzan Çen Yağız, Board Member of the Center for Women and Family Studies, delivered a seminar on “Family Education” for parents and guidance counselors at Sevgi Kindergarten on October 16, 2025. The event addressed child developmental stages, preschool problems, and effective solutions, offering parents a shared space to discuss daily challenges.
The seminar, noted for its participant-oriented approach, strengthened family-school cooperation and opened the door to individual counseling requests. In terms of social contribution, it played an important role in raising awareness on early childhood education, helping families support the development of more conscious, balanced, and cooperative generations. The expansion of similar activities is expected to enhance overall social well-being and educational quality.
Contribution to Social Awareness: “Women and War” Panel
Mardin Artuklu University’s Center for Women and Family Studies organized the “Women and War” panel in cooperation with KADEM on March 6, 2024. The event explored the social, economic, and psychological impacts of war on women, along with their roles in peace processes, highlighting stories of empowerment.
With its collaborative approach, the panel contributed to strengthening gender equality and creating solutions to challenges faced by women. The Center will continue to amplify women’s voices and support social transformation through similar activities.
Supporting Women’s Empowerment: Active Participation of Our Center in the WOMENCOOP Workshop
Mardin Artuklu University’s Center for Women and Family Studies participated in the “Empowering Women Through Cooperatives (WOMENCOOP)” workshop held at Raymar Hotel on June 1, 2023. Within the EU-supported project, discussions focused on women’s employment, cooperative models, and gender equality.
The workshop aimed to strengthen women’s economic independence through cooperative structures and to enhance educational and awareness activities. Our Center contributed to the project by offering suggestions on improving stakeholder coordination.
In terms of social contribution, initiatives like WOMENCOOP help unlock women’s potential and accelerate development. Our Center will continue to take an active role in similar projects to support women’s social and economic empowerment.
