Quality Objectives of Mardin Artuklu University Women and Family Studies Application and Research Center
In line with the main strategic goals outlined in the Mardin Artuklu University 2022–2026 Strategic Plan—“enhancing the quality of education and teaching,” “improving research capacity,” “strengthening internationalization,” and “increasing social contribution”—the quality objectives of the Women and Family Studies Application and Research Center are presented below. These objectives aim to position the Center as a leading academic institution in the region in the fields of women’s empowerment, family well-being, and gender equality, while ensuring sustainable contributions to the university’s quality assurance system.
1. Quality of Education and Teaching
The Center aims to develop courses and certificate programs focused on women, family, and gender studies, and to enhance the awareness and knowledge levels of students and graduates in these fields.
Adopting an interdisciplinary approach in Women and Family Studies is a key goal, and the number of undergraduate and graduate theses related to these themes is targeted to increase by at least 20% each year.
2. Research and Publication Quality
The Center seeks to increase scientific output in areas such as women’s rights, family structures, gender roles, violence against women, and social policy.
By 2026, the goal is to produce at least two academic publications annually, with at least one published in an internationally indexed journal. Additionally, the Center aims to conduct at least one project each year supported by TÜBİTAK, the EU, or public institutions, ensuring that project outcomes contribute to public policy and social awareness.
3. Internationalization
Promoting international knowledge exchange and collaborative research on women and family studies is among the Center’s priorities. By 2026, the Center aims to host at least one international scholar annually as an invited speaker for its events. It is also planned that Center members will present papers at a minimum of two international congresses or conferences each year to strengthen institutional representation.
4. Social Contribution and Broad Impact
The Center plans to organize seminars, panels, workshops, training programs, and awareness campaigns to strengthen public consciousness on women and family issues. At least five public events will be held annually, in cooperation with local stakeholders (NGOs, municipalities, public institutions, educational institutions, etc.). The goal is to maintain participant satisfaction levels above 85% and to develop event models that improve access for disadvantaged groups.
5. Quality Assurance System and Institutionalization
Working in full integration with the university’s quality assurance system, the Center aims to continuously monitor and improve its internal processes. Annual internal and external stakeholder satisfaction surveys will be conducted, and improvement plans will be developed based on the results. The Center’s annual activity reports will be published regularly, performance indicators aligned with the strategic plan will be monitored, and full compliance with YÖKAK quality standards will be ensured.
