Mardin Artuklu University Faculty of Theology does not limit academic production to education and instruction alone; it regards research and development as an institutional responsibility through scientific studies, publishing activities, and interdisciplinary collaborations. Our faculty is structured to support the production of original knowledge, to spread the culture of research, and to generate studies that have both high social and scientific impact.
Our academic staff benefit from national support programs such as TÜBİTAK 1001 and 3005, while more than 20 projects have been supported under the TÜBİTAK 2209-A program at the undergraduate level. To ensure the sustainability of this success, a Project Office has been established to provide consultancy services for students and faculty members. Moreover, academic mobility is supported through Erasmus+, Farabi, and Mevlana programs, while international R&D collaborations are promoted through initiatives such as Erasmus+ KA171.
The Artuklu Akademi journal, published within our faculty, contributes to the academic corpus with its open-access, double-blind peer-reviewed, and interdisciplinary publishing approach. Student participation in academic production is encouraged through the student journal Taş ve Kalem, whose first issue was published in May 2025, thus fostering the writing and critical thinking skills of young researchers.
Fundamental Principles of the R&D Policy:
Encouraging the production of original, scientific, and ethically grounded knowledge.
Promoting active participation in support programs such as TÜBİTAK 2209-A.
Ensuring sustainability of research processes through the Project Office.
Supporting transparent and qualified academic publishing through Artuklu Akademi.
Strengthening interdisciplinary projects and the integration of theology with social sciences.
Cultivating a research culture starting from the undergraduate level.
Integrating international collaborations and mobility programs into research processes.
Supporting faculty members in academic duties such as reviewing and editing.
Conducting R&D activities integrated into the quality assurance system.
Prioritizing studies that provide social benefit and generate scientific impact.
In line with these principles, our faculty aims to enhance its research capacity and make academic production a core element of its institutional culture.
