EDUCATION AND TRAINING POLICY

Mardin Artuklu University Faculty of Theology, in line with contemporary developments in higher education and the strategic objectives of our university, adopts as a fundamental principle the cultivation of well-equipped, research-oriented, versatile, and socially responsible individuals in the field of theology. Our faculty offers a multilingual, intercultural, and student-centered educational environment that integrates the classical scholarly heritage with contemporary teaching approaches.

The language of instruction is conducted through two separate undergraduate programs — one fully in Turkish and the other fully in Arabic — with the Arabic program supported by a mandatory preparatory education. Curricula are designed with a research-based, multilingual, and interdisciplinary structure built upon the synthesis of classical and modern sources, and are regularly updated according to emerging needs. Educational activities are carried out in a multicultural atmosphere with the contributions of faculty members from various regions, adding depth to the academic environment.

In line with its internationalization goals, our faculty develops bilateral collaborations and protocols with higher education institutions abroad, and supports student and staff mobility through exchange programs such as Erasmus+. Students are encouraged to gain academic experience in different countries, making language proficiency and intercultural interaction a natural component of the learning process.

Our educational philosophy supports not only academic but also personal and social development. Through programs such as TÜBİTAK and UNIDES, project production and a research culture are promoted, and interdisciplinary studies are encouraged under the guidance of faculty members. Students are provided with opportunities to establish their own workshops and practice groups in their fields of interest, fostering creativity and responsibility. Moreover, student clubs and individual initiatives are supported, and social, cultural, and scientific activities are regarded as integral parts of education.

Our faculty regards enhancing student satisfaction and ensuring their participation in decision-making processes as institutional responsibilities. Curriculum adjustments are made in line with feedback and needs analysis obtained through academic boards, surveys, advisory meetings, and focus group studies. Education processes are integrated into the quality assurance system, adopting a data-driven evaluation and continuous improvement approach.

Education management is carried out within a transparent, participatory, and progressive structure. Our faculty combines its historical identity with a modern infrastructure, effectively utilizing digital learning opportunities and contemporary educational technologies. The educational policy of our faculty is based on the following principles:

  1. Integrating the classical theological tradition with contemporary approaches.
  2. Providing multilingual academic competence through Turkish and Arabic programs.
  3. Creating a multicultural learning environment with international faculty members.
  4. Ensuring direct access to language-based sources through Arabic preparatory education.
  5. Enhancing student projects and academic research capacity.
  6. Supporting interdisciplinary activities and structures such as UNIDES.
  7. Encouraging workshops and practice groups initiated by students.
  8. Recognizing student clubs as integral components of education.
  9. Strengthening internationalization through Erasmus+, bilateral protocols, and mobility programs.
  10. Establishing a system prioritizing student satisfaction and effective feedback mechanisms.
  11. Adopting a transparent, participatory, and improvement-oriented educational management model.
  12. Utilizing educational technologies and digital opportunities effectively.
  13. Considering the cultivation of ethically grounded, scientifically engaged, and socially contributive graduates as a fundamental responsibility.

In line with these principles, our faculty continuously reviews its educational policy, steadfastly maintaining a sustainable approach that contributes to individuals, society, and the world of knowledge.
