Women's Empowerment Provincial Action Plan Workshop Held at MAU Central Campus

The “Women’s Empowerment Provincial Action Plan Workshop” organized under the coordination of the Mardin Governorship was held with broad participation at the central campus of Mardin Artuklu University.

Speaking at the opening of the program, Mardin Deputy Governor Büşra Uçar Koyun emphasized the importance of coordinated implementation of policies aimed at empowering women at the local and national levels, stating that the committee's work contributes to a stronger presence for women in Mardin's social, economic, and cultural life. Deputy Governor Koyun emphasized that the workshop laid an important foundation for concrete steps to be taken across the province.

Mardin Artuklu University, the host of the workshop, brought together stakeholders throughout the daylong program, contributing to the development of new strategies for women's policies. The program began with opening and registration procedures and continued with protocol speeches.

Speaking at the event, MAU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Yusuf Doğan discussed the university's training programs, awareness events, and collaborations aimed at empowering women in society, stating that they continue to raise public awareness through programs for young people and women. Prof. Dr. Doğan stated that the workshop presented a significant opportunity for developing applicable and monitorable policies.

Presentations were made on topics such as education, health, economy, leadership and participation in decision-making mechanisms, and the environment and climate change. Participants evaluated the current situation and collaborated on new strategies, proposed solutions, and goals.
This workshop, an important component of the work carried out by the Mardin Governorate's Women's Empowerment Provincial Coordination Board, aims to contribute to women's stronger, more visible, and more effective participation in all aspects of life.

At the end of the day, stakeholder feedback was gathered and preparations for reporting the process were initiated. The university administration announced that it would continue to collaborate with relevant institutions and organizations.
