The Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences participated in the Women Mayors Workshop held in Mardin.

The Women Village Heads Workshop held in Mardin on November 17, 2025, was conducted with a comprehensive program aimed at strengthening the role of women in decision-making processes in local governance. The workshop provided an important platform for village heads to share experiences, identify problems, and develop solutions.

Our faculty supported the workshop with a strong academic team. The event was attended by our Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Demirhan, Head of the Economics Department Prof. Dr. Melike Atay Polat, and faculty members from the Political Science and International Relations Department Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zelal Başak Yarış and Dr. Hasibe Gül Sevinç.

Our academics followed the sessions within the scope of the workshop and made assessments on women's representation in local government, governance, and social policy perspectives. Our faculty's participation in the event once again demonstrated both our university's sensitivity to social issues and the importance of academic knowledge in contributing to local government.

As the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Mardin Artuklu University, we will continue to support efforts aimed at enabling women to play a more active role in local governance and to participate in all kinds of events that raise social awareness and contribute academically.
