The aim of the Philosophy Department Doctoral Program is to cultivate individuals who can think coherently and critically across every aspect of existence, from religion and art to knowledge and science, from morality to politics, and who can use and apply academic methods to do so. The goal is to provide a path for graduates who wish to advance in the social sciences, equipping them with the skills to address the philosophical issues of our region, a region steeped in ancient wisdom, from past to present, using scientific methods and research.

It is a fact that graduate studies in philosophy are highly sought after not only by those with undergraduate and graduate degrees in philosophy, but also by those with degrees in other fields related to systematic philosophy, such as sociology, psychology, linguistics, religious and cultural studies, history, and literature. This is a natural consequence of the interdisciplinary nature of philosophy since antiquity. Philosophy is a field that embodies centuries of accumulated knowledge from an ancient inquiry. Therefore, our Philosophy PhD Program aims to advance its students' search for truth discovery and self-awareness, enabling them to reclaim ethical responsibility, which has become increasingly irrelevant in our age.

In addition to all these opportunities, our doctoral program aims to provide students who have completed their master's degree at other universities with a higher level of knowledge and expertise in their fields. In this context, the Philosophy Doctorate program aims to include individuals who have completed their master's degree in Mardin, the ancient city of Mardin, which has gained metropolitan status, in Turkey or abroad, and who are planning to advance their academic careers. Graduates of this program may find opportunities to work as faculty members at national and international universities, as well as serve as consultants at philosophy-related research centers in their fields of expertise in public institutions and organizations.
