The Department of Sociology of Religion examines the relationship between religion and society. Using quantitative and qualitative research methods, it analyses the ways in which they influence each other. The division investigates the social dimensions of religious life, including its actors and institutions, the role of religion in everyday life, and its social functions. It also examines how sociocultural conditions shape religious beliefs and practices. Within this framework, the division focuses on complex, multi-layered processes such as modernisation, globalisation and digitalisation, developing concepts and analytical approaches to explain changes and emerging trends in religious life.
