Our vision is to educate students full of knowledge and skills with our academic staff, each of whom are experts in their own fields. We aim to raise students who are highly proficient in Persian, capable of reading and understanding classical and contemporary texts, able to communicate effectively their own and others' thoughts in Persian, and evaluate information objectively in scientific research.
Objectives
Our primary objective is to equip future Persian Language and Literature experts with modern research techniques, ensure the application of these techniques, pave the way for studies prepared with contemporary methods, and train researchers and faculty members in Persian Language and Literature for universities.
We also aim to meet the need for experts and researchers in institutions such as archives, museums, and libraries in the field of Persian Language and Literature, and to conduct scientific research. The Department of Persian Language and Literature aims to stimulate and maintain a continuous interest in the science of Persian language and literature, not only for those who choose this department but also as a supporting discipline for other fields.

Being one of the first settlement areas of humanity, Mardin and its surroundings have a rich historical and literary heritage. Therefore, the Department of Persian Language and Literature located in the region will have the advantage of a wide field of study. The fact that the region is a crossroads of civilization history will be an advantage for research not only on the regional heritage but also on the cultural heritage of humanity.
Department of Persian Language and Literature will also enable the discovery and scientific study of Persian divans, divanche and prose works created by scholars and writers who lived in the region, both historically and today.
Admission Requirements and Career Opportunities for Graduates
Admission to the Department of Persian Language and Literature is based on the DİL-3 score type of the University Entrance Examination conducted by ÖSYM. The base score for the 2018-2019 academic year is 242.
