The department was founded in 2010 under the Faculty of Letters and began graduate education the same year.

It consists of three Departments:

• Educational Administration, Supervision, Planning, and Economics

• Measurement and Evaluation in Education

The mission is to train ethical, innovative, and socially responsible individuals; the vision is to be a nationally and internationally recognized academic unit that prioritizes quality and inclusivity.

The department offers only graduate-level education.

6. Who can apply to the master’s programs?

Graduates of Faculties of Education, as well as graduates of any four-year program who hold a Pedagogical Formation Certificate, may apply. Candidates must have completed their undergraduate degree by the application deadline.

7. How are applications evaluated?

Applications are assessed according to:

• Minimum ALES score: 65
• Minimum YDS/YÖKDİL or equivalent foreign language score: 45
  Additional ranking criteria vary by program and may include GPA weightings.

8. What is the language of instruction?

All programs are conducted in Turkish.

9. What is the duration of the programs?

• Thesis Master’s Programs: Minimum 4 semesters, maximum 6 semesters
• Non-Thesis Master’s Programs: Minimum 2 semesters, maximum 3 semesters

10. Is a thesis or project required?

• Thesis programs: Students must complete and defend a thesis.
• Non-thesis programs: Students must submit a graduation project.

11. How can I access course descriptions and curricula?

All course descriptions and academic plans are available via the Course Information Package (Ders Bilgi Paketi).

12. Can students participate in Erasmus+ or Mevlana exchange programs?

Yes. Eligible graduate students may participate in Erasmus+ or Mevlana programs for study or research abroad.

13. How are course registration and academic advising conducted?

Registrations are completed through the Student Information System (OBS). Each student is assigned an academic advisor throughout their studies.

14. How are assessments and examinations conducted?

Assessment methods typically include:

• Midterm examinations
• Homework, seminar assignments, in-class activities
• Final examinations
• Graduation projects (non-thesis programs)
• Thesis proposal, progress reports, and thesis defense (thesis programs)
  Attendance, credit requirements, and failure conditions are assessed according to the Graduate School regulations.

15. What are the graduation requirements?

Thesis Master’s Programs:

Students must:

• Complete at least 8 courses, seminar, and thesis (minimum 120 ECTS, 21 credits)
• Have no incomplete or failed courses
• Fulfill academic publication requirements (including acknowledgment of the Institute)

Non-Thesis Master’s Programs:

Students must:

• Complete at least 10 courses (minimum 30 credits / 60 ECTS)
• Enroll in and complete a graduation project
• Have no outstanding tuition fees

16. Can students transfer between thesis and non-thesis tracks?

Yes. Students who meet the academic requirements may transfer to a thesis program upon request.

17. Are doctoral study opportunities available?

Graduates of thesis programs may apply to doctoral programs. The department plans to open its own PhD programs in the near future.

18. What career opportunities are available for graduates?

Graduates may work as:

• Academic staff or researchers at universities
