About the Department

The Department of Assessment and Evaluation in Education is housed within the Department of Educational Sciences. One Associate Professor serves in the department. The aim of the department is to evaluate student achievement and development in educational processes, assess the effectiveness of educational programs, and research and implement various assessment and evaluation methods. Accordingly, efforts are made within the department to improve the quality of the education system, support student achievement and development, and follow innovations in education.

Our Mission

Our mission is to be a leader in the field of assessment and evaluation in education, supporting and improving educational processes by developing qualified and reliable assessment tools. We aim to enhance education quality by objectively evaluating student achievement and development and improving learning environments. Simultaneously, we strive to lead in knowledge and practices in this field by closely monitoring the latest methodologies and technological innovations in education. Our mission is focused on ensuring that assessment and evaluation processes in education are conducted fairly, transparently, and effectively. Additionally, we see supporting teachers in their assessment and evaluation skills and enhancing their professional capacities as an integral part of our mission. In this way, we aim to contribute to the sustainable improvement of assessment and evaluation practices in education.

Our vision is to maximize students' potential and contribute to the emergence of individuals tailored to societal needs by ensuring the innovative and effective management of assessment and evaluation processes in education. We aim to continuously enhance assessment and evaluation approaches in education through pioneering research and practices, aligning them with international standards. Additionally, integrating digitalization and innovative solutions into educational processes by closely monitoring technological advancements is integral to our vision. In this regard, we aspire to create effective change in assessment and evaluation in education. Furthermore, we emphasize the importance of managing assessment and evaluation processes in education with a participatory approach, considering stakeholders' perspectives and encouraging their active involvement. Upholding principles of social diversity and equity, we regard providing assessment opportunities tailored to each student's learning needs as a fundamental aspect of our vision, aiming to foster a just educational environment. Through these efforts, we aim to contribute to making the education system more inclusive, equitable, and successful at all levels.
