Mardin, which has a long history and has been home to many civilizations, has many riches in terms of its cultural and historical memory and socio-economic structure. Mardin, which is a natural meeting basin of cultures, languages and religions, has harmoniously hosted all these riches in itself and has enabled these riches to develop peacefully and manifest themselves in new channels. In this sense, Mardin serves as a natural hinterland for the International Congress of Linguistics and Comparative Literature. As a requirement of this task, the idea of holding a congress where languages and literatures will be discussed in a comparative way has emerged.
The International Congress of Linguistics and Comparative Literature to be held in Mardin is a product of the effort to understand the old and new forms of relations between different disciplines from the perspective of social sciences. In this congress, where the languages that have existed and continue to exist in our country and the literatures produced by these languages will be discussed in a comparative manner, the bridge between the past and the future will be discussed with classical and modern methods.
In the congress, linguistics and literature issues are discussed in accordance with the methods of social sciences and comparative studies on language and literature are aimed. For this purpose, the theme of the congress has been determined as International Linguistics and Comparative Literature, open to all languages and literatures.
In the light of the following sub-themes, descriptive, explanatory, interpretive, interpretive and directive papers are expected without any sharp and precise disciplinary limitations. One of the aims of the congress is to serve the questioning of interdisciplinary boundaries. In this sense, the congress expects contributions from academics from history, linguistics, sociology, philosophy, anthropology, literature and many other disciplines that are defined as institutional.
