Diploma Supplement

The Diploma Supplement is a document prepared by higher education institutions and provided as an annex to the diploma to ensure that the qualifications obtained are easily understood. This document was developed by the Council of Europe, the European Commission and UNESCO/CEPES. The Diploma Supplement aims to ensure that degrees and diplomas awarded in one country can be easily understood by relevant institutions and organisations in other countries. The skills and competences acquired by students during their studies can be easily understood when they go abroad to work or study.

What is the purpose of the Diploma Supplement?

- It facilitates students' continuation of higher education in European countries.

- It facilitates graduates' employment and mobility in European countries.

The Diploma Supplement consists of eight sections, which describe the following elements:

2. Acquired competence justifying entitlement to the Diploma Supplement
3. Level of acquired competence leading to the award of the Diploma Supplement
4. Content and outcomes of acquired competence leading to the award of the Diploma Supplement
5. The function of the acquired competence leading to the award of the Diploma Supplement
6. Additional information
7. Official certification of the Diploma Supplement
